Voltage Drop Formula can be used to calculate the voltage drop over an electrical circuit. It simply defines the energy loss while the electric current moves through the circuit. It often happens with the wires. It is the voltage loss that happens due to its impedance.

Solved Problems using DC Voltage Drop Formula
Problem 1: Calculate the dc voltage drop if an inductor of 5 H is used and 5 A of current flows in 20 s.
Answer:
Given: Inductance L = 5 Henry
current I = 5 A
time T = 20 s
Voltage drop is given by
V = L x (I / T)
= 5 × (5 /20)
= 1.25 v
Hence, the DC Voltage drop is 1.25v.
Problem 2: calculate the distance, if voltage drop is 5 v and current flow is 4 A in time 10 s?
Answer:
Given: Voltage drop = 5 v, time taken T = 10 s, current flow I = 4 A
As per the formula, L= (V x T) / I
= (5 x 10) / 4 = 12.5 H
Hence, the distance is 12.5 Henry.
